I'm Tricia, I have journeyed through life, gathering experiences and stories over the past 50 years in the travel industry. From being a young tour guide to holding various roles in the travel industry.
My passion for travel has helped me so much in the face of personal loss. I became a widow recently, an event that was devastating. But now, alone and a little apprehensive, I've decided to travel again as I believe travel can be a healing experience. Follow me as I endeavour to explore and travel solo.
Widowhood is not the end; it's a new beginning. 'Widow on the Waves' was born from the desire to share my experiences of travelling solo, particularly after my husband's passing.
The 'waves' in the title isn't just a reflection of my love for cruising; it's a symbol of life's ups and downs, ebbs and flows. It's about navigating through them and enjoying the voyage, regardless of the destination.
Travelling solo is an adventure on its own. When you couple that with the emotions and changes that come with being a widow, it's a different journey altogether. On this blog, I share the challenges, surprises, learnings, and joys that come with solo travel as a widow.
While cruising is my particular favourite (there's just something magical about being either on, or next to the sea), I will share my experiences of exploring, one place at a time.
Above all, 'Widow on the Waves' is a resource for you. Whether you're a widow, a solo traveller, or anyone seeking to explore the world, this blog is for you. I particularly want to help other widows, to inspire you, to help you navigate your own journey. Writing about my experiences is also a healing process for me. I know how difficult it is to have lost someone dear to you. Be kind to yourself, and have courage and determination., relish the beauty of new adventures.
Thank you for visiting 'Widow on the Waves', and I hope you enjoy your time here. Let's explore, dream, and discover safely together.
